Bethesda, MD, July 22, 2024 – 6th Grain Corporation has been awarded the contract ‘Agro-Integrated Land Management System using modern technologies’ to support the Uzbekistan Ministry of Agriculture, with funding by the World Bank. The three-year project involves transferring digital tools on agricultural cropped area map and crop monitoring systems based on satellite remote sensing analysis and models to support decision making. 6th Grain and its partners will work with the International Center for Strategic Development and Research in the Field of Food and Agriculture (ISCAD) under the Ministry of Agriculture.
The 6th Grain team attended a signing ceremony in Tashkent in April 2024. 6th Grain CEO Vladimir Eskin is on the left, with local representative Diana Matkarimova, and 6th Grain programmers Maxim Rusanov and Artem Steshakov.
Dr Vladimir Eskin, CEO of 6th Grain, said: ‘This contract will allow 6th Grain to support Uzbekistan’s decision making with the full complement of our digital remote sensing and land management tools’. 6th Grain will provide mobile and web-based digital tools to help the government monitor crop health, provide agronomic advice to farmers, determine crop suitability in a changing climate, and provide information on its forest resources. During the three-year project, 6th Grain will transfer all algorithms and scientific knowledge to Uzbekistan experts to modernize ISCAD and its ability to manage the country’s natural resources.
